Catholic Youth Ministry has several programs to meet the religious formation and spiritual growth needs of the youth in our parish.
Following is a brief description and the current schedule of each program.
Sunday Youth Group
The Sunday program is the core Youth Ministry meeting time.
The program emphasis is on living as disciples of Jesus Christ through small and large group catechesis, Catholic teachings, and Scripture, primarily using Sunday readings. Sunday Youth Group is preceded by Youth Center - a place where youth can come and hang out with friends, play games, and listen to music in a supervised Christian environment each Sunday that Youth Group meets. The gym opens at 4:30. Youth Center opens in the Social Hall at 5:00. The Youth Group session meets from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. All youth meet in the Social Hall.

Wednesday Youth Group
The Wednesday Youth Group is part of the Lectionary Based Catechesis for Families and Adults. Because it is family based parents must attend with each youth. The group gathers for Liturgy of the Word and then divides into age appropriate small groups including Youth Group. The program emphasizes living as disciples of Jesus Christ, Catholic teachings and Gospel living. Everyone meets in the school Conference Suite.

Saturday Special
Saturday Special is another way to experience staying connected to Jesus. Saturday Special will be large group activity and experience based learning, teaching, and witnessing with a healthy dose of fun included.
Because Catholic Youth Ministry seeks to provide experience, guidance, and teaching for teenagers in all areas of their lives, Saturday Special will tackle life issues that young people face - like peer pressure, dating, relationships, fitting in, performance and achievement, morality, influences, cultural values, and more. We'll tackle these subjects in the context of using our Catholic Christian values as the basis for the choices we make.
Saturday Special will be held about once a month after the 5:30 Mass. Youth are encouraged to attend Mass together or with their families before the session. If your family attends another Mass then you are welcome to just come after Mass.
The Saturday Special schedule is included in the Sunday or Wednesday Youth Group schedule here.
Friday Praise & Worship
A big part of being Christian is all about praise and worship for God, our Creator and Father. The biggest part of being Catholic is recognizing the central importance and the necessity
of Eucharist in our lives. As Catholics we have to stay connected to Jesus through Eucharist. A great way to do that is through worship.
It may take a little different form each time we gather but Friday Praise & Worship is all about coming into God's presence to praise Him and worship Him using our rich Catholic traditions and the energy of our teenagers. Friday Praise & Worship is youth oriented and youth led but the entire parish is welcome and invited.
The Friday Praise & Worship schedule is included in the Sunday or Wednesday Youth Group schedule here.
Second Sunday
Catholics read, or even study, the Bible?? Of course we do!!
Scripture has a prominent place in Mass and it is one of the ways that Catholics recognize God's presence among us. Yes we read the Bible!
Maybe you're seeking the message that God has for your life. Maybe you want to make the Bible part of your spiritual growth. Maybe being able to tune in to the readings will help you more fully participate in Mass. Second Sunday can help.
Second Sunday is Bible study in simple form. We'll meet after Mass twice a month for simple presentation and reflection and even a little teaching about the Scripture of the day.
It will be held twice on each Sunday that we meet. Once after the 9:30 Mass and again after the 11:30 Mass. We'll only meet for about 45 minutes so you can come before or after Mass and include the word of God in your life. Parents are invited to join us also.
Our schedule comes from the name. We meet on the second Sunday of each month and then the second Sunday after that (so it's the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month).
Second Sunday will meet for the first time on October 26, 2008.
